Dave Cloniger of the Post & Courrier said on the Half-Time show that he had talked to Coach Tanner and was told that the final decision regarding Saturday's game will be made by Thursday afternoon. Marshall is scheduled to fly down to Columbia, weather permitting, on Friday.

Of the 22 FBS and FCS games scheduled for this weekend in DC, VA, NC and SC, only the Marshall-S Carolina game is still set to play as originally scheduled.-

COLUMBIA, S.C. – In light of the shifting forecast and
probable path of Hurricane Florence, the University of South Carolina
has canceled the football game versus Marshall that was scheduled to be
played Saturday evening at 7:30. The Gamecocks will look for an
opportunity to play a 12th regular season game later this season.

"Whether or not the game could have been played, we made the decision we
think is best for the state and those who are evacuating the coast,"
said Gamecock Athletics Director Ray Tanner.
"There is no question this is the right thing to do and the decision
was supported by President Pastides, Coach Muschamp, our Board members
and myself."

The decision comes hours after revised forecasts show the potential for a
greater impact on South Carolina from Hurricane Florence. The
cancelation of the game will free up hotel rooms across the Midlands for
evacuees and allows emergency personnel to be utilized in areas
impacted by the storm.

"Marshall Athletics Director Mike Hamrick and I have been in constant
contact throughout the week about the game," added Tanner.  "We are in
total agreement that this is the correct decision."

The Gamecocks return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Vanderbilt.  The game will be televised on the SEC Network at 4 p.m. ET.

Furman canceled their game but Clemson still playing at 12:00. Don't they think the police that they have to use for that game could be used helping with the hurricane??

Dabo & Co. won't be playing if Flo' impacts them with a deluge of rain like some are predicting in the Piedmont.

Dabo has told a bigly falsehood all week. He bragged that his team could have played Marry Poppins but played aTm, a team with more 5*’s than Clemson. Clemson has 9 and aTm has one. He does this all the time to enhance his resume.

Great decision to cancel the game. Safety for everyone is priority #1.

Their final decision will be made by morning. Georgia Southern has a long bus ride and they are still in discussions. He’s probably catching some flack for not cancelling. Whatever makes him look best is what he will do.

Clemson does have to play at GT the following week so I guess they need the practice? I do wish they would have found a way to get the game in that would not have negatively impacted the resources needed for the hurricane but I will take people's safety and well being over a game any day.
