Gilmore, Swearinger see 'talent', 'savage' in young secondary

The glory days of South Carolina secondary play was when Stephon Gilmore and D.J. Swearinger were
on the field together. Their success has carried into the NFL while
their alma mater is trying to get back the days of having a group that
can shut down opposing passing games, produce the turnovers and lay the
big hits. 

Both players were back on campus last week to watch the spring game.
Given they are avid followers of the program season to season, they knew
who to keep their eyes on; young defensive backs like safety R.J. Roderick and cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Israel Mukuamu.

We can only hope these young DB’s live up the standard these former Gamecocks created. Seems like a lifetime ago...
